The images are only 256 color because that was the depth of the source files (keep in mind this was 1996). Click on the thumbnails to see or download the full-size images (~488x480).

William's Arcade's Greatest Hits was the first where the games actually looked 100% like the original. This was probably the first collection to use an emulator I suppose. About 800,000 different collections like this have since been produced.
