The images on this page are from the "Electronics Boutique 1996 Spring CD".
This was a promotional CD catalog given out at Electronics Boutique & Waldensoftware stores in early 1996.
The images are only 256 color because that was the depth of the source files (keep in mind this was 1996).

These images are simply up for nostalgic value.
If you take video games way too seriously then I guess they even serve a historical purpose by documenting the state of gaming in
early 1996.
With some exceptions, this page contains the b-team of Sony Playstation 1st
generation titles.
Philsoma, b-team shooter.
NBA in the Zone, slightly better than TV Sports Basketball.
Goal Storm, if there was a TV Sports Soccer this might be
better than it.
College Slam, NBA Jam without anyone you've heard of.
D was an interesting game, I have it for the Saturn.
Alien Trilogy, about as good as Alien 3.
Rise of the Robots 2, a bad sequel to a miserable game.
Return Fire, a fairly average game.
I have never heard of the In the Hunt, I'm not even sure it was
actually released in the United States.
The original Resident Evil didn't receive a ton of coverage or
promotion but word of mouth spread quickly.
Darkstalkers was good fighter, but was overshadowed by..
Street Fighter Alpha showing Capcom's inability to count to 3.
The Playstation version of Doom was the best console port, even
included some new levels and stuff.
Are there any good Top Gun games?
The nausea-inducing Decent.
The original Cyberia was another average title.
VR Soccer, even worse than Goal Storm.
William's Arcade's Greatest Hits was the first where the games
actually looked 100% like the original. This was probably the first
collection to use an emulator I suppose. About 800,000 different collections like
this have since been produced.
I guess I never thought about it before but in Panzer General you
play as a Nazi commander. WTF is this, Mel Gibson's dream game?
CyberSpeed obviously wasn't out yet since the box doesn't look
like a Playstation one.
