Q: Hey I sent you an email a couple of weeks back and you never replied. Did you get it or did you just not respond because you're a jerk?
A: I am very bad about replying to email. It's not completely because I'm a jerk though, it's mostly a matter of time. I have a kid, job, house and all the stuff that goes along that. Time is scarce so I have to make decisions like "check email or take a shower?", showering usually wins. I also try to set aside 10 hours a week to work on Tiamat or whatever project is my current top priority. This leaves little time for reading email or anything else remotely recreational. Here's a little pie chart to show where my time goes:
